Monday 6th February 2012 saw the worldwide publication of John’s photograph commissioned by Buckingham Palace to celebrate the 60th anniversary of The Queen’s accession to the throne.

Over the last couple of years, John has been commissioned for an increasing number of advertising and promotional shoots for a wide range of theatrical productions. These include Calendar Girls, Oliver (with Rowan Atkinson), numerous and varied images for the Theatre By The Lake in Cumbria, and for the Theatre Royal Bath – Hedda Gabler(…)
On 27 October 2011 at 7pm, in the Ondaatje Wing Theatre at The National Portrait Gallery, John will be in conversation with Sir Roy Strong, discussing the process of photographic portraiture, the relationship between artist and sitter and more. John has been given a dedicated space at the gallery to exhibit a selection of his portraits. The pictures are on show from 22nd April until 31st December 2011 in Room 38a
A book of photographs that John has taken in Highgate Cemetery over the last ten years was published in 2010 in collaboration with The Friends of Highgate Cemetery.
In October 2010 John presented his first hands-on workshop with Irish Eyes, Liam Ramsell’s innovative photographic training courses set in a beautiful countryside location on the outskirts of Cork.
John photographed Princess Anne for her official portrait celebrating her 60th birthday, having previously been commissioned for her 40th and 50th birthdays.
Having already photographed Cherie and Tony Blair and their family in the last few years, John was commissioned for both the covers of Cherie’s book “Speaking For Myself: The Autobiography” and of Tony Blair’s autobiography “A Journey” released this year.
John has been giving lectures over the last few years throughout Britain at various art centres and universities, the most prestigious being at The Royal Geographic Society in Kensington in 2008 which was in aid of the Photovoice charity.
